Voice recording!
We discovered so much talent during the auditions. It was hard to choose between them, but in the end we found all our characters, and there were a lot of "Ah ha! You'll be perfect!" moments.
On recording day, all our actors took direction well and fitted their characters like gloves. Gloves with excellent diction and interpretive skills.
Wendi Graham, sound engineer extraordinaire, came in to look after us. Wendi has the keen hearing of rare nocturnal marsupials. Not only can she detect the smallest sound problem, but more importantly, she has the technical expertise and experience to fix it on the spot.
Our voices are with Wendi now, being polished and buffed. When they come back we can get into the real meat of animating this first episode. I can't wait.

Bradley of the No Monsters Club
This is our interpretation of the Bradley H's winning human character, named in his honour. Believing that there is no way monsters should actually exist, so therefore the east siders of Dunbarton have no place being at Gate Street High.
A Mental match for Julius and just as technically minded as Vincent, Bradley uses every opportunity to cause trouble for the creatures of Gate Street. Bradley approaches every situation with a cold calculating brain. While he works within the rules, it may just a short time before he starts bending or breaking them.
We must ask ourselves, what makes someone a ''Monster"...

And STORY by Aaron Dowson
This little piece was cute, a nice commentary of the zombification of the planet!
"Everyone at the school, including the teachers and the bus driver, become addicted to a new social networking site called FaceSpace (or another name can be used, if this one has been taken already). They roam mindlessly around the school corridors typing on their mobiles and computers, or looking for wireless internet connections and power sources. Ironically, the only person not affected is Simon, the zombie, who can't understand what all the fuss is about."

Another Competition Update
People are getting fired up about the Schoolies Competition! We've been deluged with questions, so here's some more information for you eager beavers:
The Setting
Dunbarton is a regular town with regular people who live regular lives, that is, until you go to the other side of the river, where the peaceful small town atmosphere melds into the nightmarish refuge of ghouls, ghosts and vampires. Both sides of the river are at an uneasy truce, and most people get on with their lives without hassling the other side.
Unfortunately, there is only one high school shared between the two districts, which means the students are constantly at odds with each other. Our group of friends is just one small group in a larger school; and they find support in each other where outsiders are concerned.
What It's All About
SCHOOLIES is an 11-minute comedy/horror animated series aimed at pre-teens through to young adults. It uses both comedy and horror analogies to mirror and parody the lives of teenagers.
SCHOOLIES focuses on a group of 'monsterous' friends who deal with the trials and tribulations of high school in a town divided down the middle, with regular people on one side of the river and Halloween monsters living on the other.
Character Descriptions
You can find descriptions and model sheets for the main characters here.

Marquee
For the record, I put fangs on her to establish her race, but colour prevents it from showing and I didn't bother lifting a finger to sort that part out... but it's there.
Originally I had a hulking, stupid, nose picking student in mind for the Cyclops persona, but somehow it turned into this. So instead it's a cranky music teacher weilding a drumstick.
Kinda decided on creating a much more deformed character in the ways of their monster persona, I threw a hand gesture in there to explain how the wings very much act the same as a hand would; the masquerade of hair made working on colour a nusance in its own right.
Then I figured I'd mold a murlock student. I think colour worked out best here, except with the eyes; initially the iris and pupil were all black and they just looked like huge puppy dog eyes. Story: He's asking why all the water in the pool has been drained.
Hope everywan likes. I found it quite entertaining to design images from a guide over complete scratch of my own style; it's kind of like a 'Create your avatar!' website or something, except you get tonnes more freedom. Not that I dont enjoy drawing in my own style though.

Modified Dan
Hey All, as a comparison, here's my rework of Dans Self Portrait! Dan drew a bang-up version but I had a few problems with proportion and complexity.
Note: The Build, the Simplification of Lines, I would like to tweak the clothing colours, but couldnt work out something that looks better than Dan did.
